VEGETARIAN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OBTAINS 501(C)3 STATUS
SAN RAFAEL, CA – The Vegetarian Educational Institute is pleased to announce that it has been determined by the I.R.S. to be a tax-exempt nonprofit educational organization. Contributions made to VEI are tax-deductible. VEI is also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts.
The tax-deductibility of donations is retroactive to June 21, 2016 (VEI’s date of incorporation). Any donations made since that date are still eligible to be declared in tax filings.
The Vegetarian Educational Institute was founded in 2016 to carry on the tradition of the French Meadows Macrobiotic Summer Camp, originally started by macrobiotic teachers Herman and Cornelia Aihara, and continued by Carl and Julia Ferre. VEI offers educational programs to the public that promote healthy dietary and lifestyle choices. Its comprehensive approach to wellbeing can be practiced at a retreat and continued in one’s daily life.
The Vegetarian Educational Institute will host its first retreat in the Sierra Mountains at Pinecrest Lake, CA from July 15-22. (See www.happyhealthyretreats.com.) Donations can be made to VEI (see address below).
